Frequently Asked Questions

Eligibility

What are the eligibility requirements for ARTiBA certifications?

Each ARTiBA certification has distinct eligibility criteria based on your educational background and work experience. Visit the specific certification page (AiE®, CAiEP®, or CAiBP®) to view track-wise eligibility guidelines and choose the track that best fits your profile.

Can I apply if I am still pursuing my degree?

Yes. If you’re currently enrolled in a qualifying program (such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or any other related discipline like Mathematics or Statistics, etc.), you may apply for the AiE® certification under the appropriate entry track. Your eligibility will be reviewed based on your current academic standing and skills.

Is prior work experience mandatory to apply?

Work experience is required for some tracks but not all. For example, AiE® includes tracks for early-career professionals or students. However, Senior-level certifications like CAiEP® are intended for experienced technical professionals working on AI/ML projects or implementation, while CAiBP® is designed for business and strategy professionals.

Can students of accredited institutions apply for ARTiBA certifications?

Yes. Students enrolled in accredited institutions may apply under designated student tracks. These tracks are tailored for candidates who are still building their practical experience and are supported by faculty or institutional endorsements.

How do I know which certification is right for me?

Your ideal certification depends on your career stage, academic background, and professional goals. Schedule a call with an advisor to find the best track for you.

Can I upgrade to a higher-level certification later?

Yes. ARTiBA offers upgrade paths for eligible candidates. AiE® credential holders can apply to upgrade to CAiEP® once they meet the required experience. Upgrade details are available on individual certification pages.

What is ARTiBA’s process for reviewing a candidate’s application?

When you submit your application, you agree to ARTiBA’s audit and verification policies. While not all applications are audited, a random selection is made. If your application is selected, you’ll receive an official email notification outlining the documents required and next steps. You’ll need to complete the Candidacy Audit Response Form and upload the requested materials by the specified deadline.

What if my application is disapproved on eligibility grounds?

If your application is declined based on eligibility, you may submit a Candidacy Consideration Request Form to request reconsideration. This must be accompanied by a letter explaining the reason for your appeal along with any supporting documents. All materials must be submitted together within 5 business days of receiving the disapproval notification using the form provided.

EXAMINATION

What is the duration, format, and pattern of the exam?

ARTiBA certification exams consist of multiple-choice, single-answer questions. The number of questions and exam duration may vary by certification program. You are not required to answer the questions in sequence—candidates can review, return to, or revise answers before final submission. Be sure to review all responses carefully before ending the exam.

How long do I have to complete the certification process?

You have 180 days from the date of your registration confirmation to prepare for, schedule, and take your certification exam. Exam results are displayed immediately after submission. A detailed result report is uploaded to your myARTiBA dashboard within 10–12 business days. Once you pass and meet all requirements, your digital badge is issued via CredBadge™, and your credential kit—including your printed certificate, Code of Ethics booklet, and designation pin—is shipped within 3–4 weeks.

What is the minimum passing score for ARTiBA exams?

ARTiBA certifications follow a dynamic passing score model, not a fixed percentage. While a score of around 65% is typically sufficient, passing criteria are based on global performance percentiles. This percentile-based approach ensures fairness and reflects international benchmark standards. Specific qualifying scores may vary by program and testing window.

What ID documents are required for exam registration and proctoring?

All ARTiBA certification exams are conducted online and are digitally proctored through ExamStrong, allowing candidates the flexibility to take the exam from a secure, private location using a personal laptop or computer that meets the system requirements. Candidates must provide details of two valid, non-expired, government-issued identification documents. On the day of the exam, they must present the original IDs to the remote proctor on-screen.

Acceptable IDs include:

  • Government-issued driver's license
  • Passport
  • Military ID
  • State/country ID card
  • Employee/school ID

Note: If a candidate fails to provide acceptable identification, or if there is any discrepancy in the ID presented, the proctor has the right to refuse entry to the exam.

Can I use electronic devices during the exam?

No. The use of mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, or any other electronic devices is strictly prohibited. Please refer to the Examinee Conduct Policy for more information.

Are breaks allowed during the exam?

No. ARTiBA exams are live-proctored and must be completed in a single, uninterrupted sitting.

When should I log in or arrive for my exam session?

You should log in or arrive at your designated exam environment at least 60 minutes before the scheduled start time. This allows for proctor checks and system readiness verification.
